Kcare agency is recruiting a Band 6 Senior Mental Health Practitioner on a placement for 3 months to take a lead in the social care of young people admitted to Brookside Ward and YPHTT. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Liaise with external LA Social Care services, placement providers, the Police, and other safeguarding agencies.
• To have oversight of all social care matters.
• Advise, teach and direct other staff where needed. 
• Attend CPA, CIN, LAC and CP meetings where needed.
• Attend service level meetings to ensure the social care provision of the service meets requirements.
• Work with adolescents in mental health crisis with complex health and social care needs.  to
• Attend clinical and safeguarding supervision and complete mandatory training as per Trust requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Significant experience post qualification working with children and families with complex issues including trauma, abuse, CSE, DV, illness etc. 
• Understanding of MH difficulties in children and how these can impact on families. 
• Experience working within a multi-professional framework.  Understanding of the MHA, MCA, Children's Act. 
• Working in stressful situations at times. 
• Able to manage own time and prioritise workload based on need. 
• To be assertive and confident when advocating for the service and needs of the child.
