FAQs
What are your office hours?
We’re available Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:30 and from 09:30 to 16:30 on Saturdays. Emergency support is available 24 hours – 365 days per year. Just call us on 0118 956 9922 and if it’s out-of-hours your call will divert to our out-of-hours service.
Will I be guaranteed enough work?
We can’t guarantee work but we have a large customer database, with many locums using our service every day of the week. We’ll also help you improve your chances of getting booked.
What documents do l need to register?
Before you start, you will need the following to complete registration:
- Proof of National Insurance
- Professional Indemnity Insurance Certificate
- MUR certificate (England and Wales)
- Repeat Dispensing Certificate (England and Wales)
- NMS
- Contact details of 2 Pharmacy referees
If you are a dispenser or a technician you won't need MUR, Repeat Dispensing, and NMS and Indemnity insurance.
How can I be sure you’ll provide a fully qualified locum?
We use a thorough registration process, which collects and checks locum identity, right to work in the UK, DBS (if you require it) and registration with the GPhC. References, advanced and enhanced services qualification documents are checked and held on file.
How do l get payment?
We don’t charge for the service and support we provide for locum pharmacists, locum dispensers and locum technicians.
All you’ll need to do is to invoice your customers on the day (or when appropriate) and details are available in your Locum Pharmacist Salary online diary for any customer’s specific claim arrangements and when to expect payment.
As a locum you are self-employed and you are responsible for your own tax and National Insurance. There can be significant tax savings if you work as a Limited Company.
